About the Designer

Welcome

Hello to all you dancers, parents, and those who love unique art. When I was 5 the “stage bug” hit and has only grown through out time. Ballet, Tap, and Jazz were a weekly routine in our household and will always be some of my favorite childhood memories. I grew up when the studio was like a symphony. The pianist and instructor were one instrument fine tuning a roomful of eager children. Like most dancers we began stretching, warming up, then taps were tied, ballet strings tucked neatly, and when the first chord struck, silence and anticipation began.

Some of my fondest memories were of my mom spray painting 3 pairs of tap shoes (3 kids took dance), making sure slippers, and tights were in order, hair and make-up were secure, then all our beautiful costumes were ready to go for Opening Night! My precious mother was always in the wings making sure that when one child was off stage another was prepared for their next special number. A true joy that I will always hold dear.

After 30 years I began dancing again. This time not only as a student but as parent with two children in dancing as well. The excitement never leaves! Ballet is my passion but I thought I would expand my horizons and entered the world of Modern and Pointe. I fell in love with Modern due to its creative movement and style . I noticed that pointe shoes, as they are called today, have changed! The shoes have become more “dancer friendly.” The technique and hard work to become so graceful “En Pointe” will never change though! My love and passion for pointe will continue as I workout daily to become stronger not just physically but mentally. It is truly an art that is mastered by few but loved by many!

I started to notice my “collection” of pointe shoes with broken shanks, and dead boxes were growing . Several pairs were hanging in my youngest daughters room for “encouragement” as she continues to study ballet. One day my mother was unpacking old boxes and found one of my old costumes. I decided to take my love for dance and combine it with my other love, Art! This is how Pointes4you was created. If you have old, worn out pointe shoes that are just sitting around, or thrown in a box under your bed, take them out and I’ll create you something special.

I’ve realized how as a parents we sacrifice so much for our children to dance. What do their memories hold? I want to give to you what was so graciously given to me. A wonderful memory of a recital, the first ballet you attended, your favorite opera, or even Broadway musical. If you love the arts, ballet, dance, theater (or just about anything), I can take new, or used, pointe shoes and make something unique. Just look at my gallery at some of my creations.

If you have any ideas you would like to share with me please feel free to make comments! All suggestions welcome.
